This sweet and sincere zine is a starter guide for building your own go bag and thinking through emergency preparedness. It starts with the simple work of getting to know your neighbors, rather than running out to buy a bunch of stuff. The idea for this guide is to start with what is totally doable, focused on communal action rather than individualism.

This 20-page, hand-drawn zine compiles thoughts and ideas from my group of queer friends who formed an emergency preparedness group in Fall 2024 called Go Bag Buddies. It’s also informed by the work of Margaret Killjoy, whose essay “Get Yourself a Go Bag” is quoted in the zine.
